The Pop Up Emporium - takeover by Nikki from Lemon Drops Design

Our Small Business Interviews are back and this time we have a twist as Nikki from Lemon Drops Design is taking over the blog!

Thank you so much for featuring me Rachel, I love being part of this Pop Up community. There are such a lovely bunch of sellers and so much talent.

I’m Nikki, the one woman show behind Lemon Drops Design. I make beautiful, handmade earrings designed to spread joy. I started making for myself as a bit of an act of self care; I was suffering pretty badly with PND and needed to do something for me that also allowed me to reclaim, or assert my identity a bit. Making beautiful things, and experimenting with colours and textures brought me so much joy and I wanted to share that joy with others (plus I was getting a lot of requests from friends for their own pairs!).

My most popular product is my signature lemon hoops, without a doubt. I’ve lost count of how many little, hand textured lemons I’ve made over the years. My favourite makes change all the time though, everytime I discover a new technique or an experiment leads to something beautiful and unexpected. I’ve been playing with alcohol inks and translucent clays recently which has produced some very exciting results.

If you’re local to Hastings you can usually find me at the real life Pop Up markets, and I’m also stocked in Turn The Tide in Hastings. You can always find me online though at www.lemondropsdesign.co.uk.

I usually launch new collections every month through my website after lots of previews on my grid. My subscribers to my newsletter get early access to all new stock launches. This month has seen a small restock of my sell out ‘moths’ collection plus a new colour way of this design, and a cute, ditsy floral design for some summer vibes.

Shopping small is so important to me, it’s something I try to do wherever possible myself as I’d much rather spend my money supporting hardworking individuals or small businesses than big faceless corporations, and it means the world to me when people choose to support me too. I’m so lucky to have such a wonderfully supportive bunch of customers, and small business friends and cheerleaders too. I’ve met so many fantastic humans through my business, making beautiful things and enjoying my experiments is an added bonus.

Thank you Nikki, it's been lovely to chat and hear more about Lemon Drops Design today!
